This has two reasons:
1. I use a Plugin called “Dynamic Menu” which originally had been a Tag Cloud Plugin. I modified it, combined it with another Plugin that I’ve written, so that it puts out a list of the tags with the highest tagvalue. The problem is that this Plugin needs a high amount of posts, tags and visits to work properly. I thought about removing the menu for the beginning, but instead decided to add some code so that
2. Every second day the “10 recent posts” are shown and replacing the dynamic menu. This is not really a good solution, though it should help a bit in the beginning.
Apart from that I also modified the tagvalue-Function to make use of the “Most read posts”-cookies. Very interesting stuff, huh? I just wanted to resolve this “left-sidebar-mystery”.

For the use in this Blog I modified it, so that there’s less manual work necessary. Nevertheless I’m not sure, if it will really work… This post is its ordeal!

UPDATE: Okay… Everything has failed. The Plugin is now in its original shape again. -.-
